Jay Garrick reveals he knows all their names as Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) points his gun at him. The singularity caused a portal which connected their two worlds. Garrick reveals in his work they call him the Flash. Zoom is an evil demon with the face of death.

The singularity pulled both Garrick and Zoom into the portal. Garrick has lost his speed and cannot return home. He has been following them for six moths. Barry promises to test Jay but if he's not telling the truth; he has another enemy.

Zoom has brought in another assassin to kill the scarlet speedster. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) discovers Jay was a chemist/superhero n his other world. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) reveals their visitor is from another parallel universe. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) continues to explain about Earth-1 and Earth-2; but the breach needs to be closed.

Caitlin gave Jay a lie detector and passed, but Barry is till unconvinced. Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) introduces herself to Joe and join his task force. Unfortunately, Joe doesn't want anything to do with her. Barry then puts Jay in a prison cell as he's called in for a fire.

After putting out a fire, The Flash fights and loses against a meta-human made of sand. While investigating the crime scene, Barry discovers gasoline burns and spots arson. Patty introduces herself to Barry and praises his forensics reports. Patty found a cut wire and a sample but she still hasn't impressed Joe.

Iris (Candice Patton) notices Caitlin might have a crush on Jay. After revealing about the Sand Demon, Barry is still unsure about working with Jay. Cisco then discovers Martin working on his breach theory. They have a chance to locate the exotic matter. Cisco is suddenly hit with a vision of Barry fighting the Sand Demon.

After doing some police work, Joe thought he was made, but Patty beats him and ends up putting down Sand Demon. As Joe interrogates his suspect, he realizes it's not the Speed Demon. After Barry and Patty flirt, Joe realizes they are dealing with a doppelgänger. While taking to Iris, Barry refuses to trust Jay because he reminds him of Harrison Wells. Eddie and Ronnie are dead because he trusted him.

After releasing his suspect, Joe and Patty meet the real Speed Demon. Patty ends up getting taken hostage. With Patty kidnapped, Barry has no nice but to trust Jay and asks for his help. Jay explains Barry that he can defeat the Sand Demon by shooting lightning from his hands.  Barry promises Joe that he will find Patty; not matter what.

In his hideout, Patty watches the Sand Demon make his bomb. Cisco taps into his power and sees the hideout in his vision, spotting a clue. Cisco though doesn't want to tell Martin how he discovered Patty's location. For an hour, Jay trains Barry but he is unable to hit the target with the lightning. Jay understands Barry's ordeal but he's not Harrison Wells.

With a plan in mind, Barry wants Jay to suit up and put on his helmet. Barry and Jay shake hands before getting into battle. During their confrontation, Jay gets beaten up by Speed Demon while Barry gets Patty away from the bomb.

The Flash races in a loop and strikes the Speed Demon with lightning, turning him into glass. They end up rescuing Patty at the same time.

Caitlin then reveals to Jay how she lost Ronnie; she had to find a new way to live. The two joke around before Barry and Jay talk about Zoom, who intends on wiping out every speedster.

Joe discovers Patty's father was murdered by Mark Mardon, the Weather Wizard. He finally accepts her joining his task force. He then discovers his ex-wife in the precinct, asking to see their daughter.

Martin confronts Cisco about his lies, learns about his vibe powers. Cisco though wants his powers to stop and asks Martin to keep it a secret.

After discovering the one breach, there are 52 breaches that need to be closed. The biggest one is inside S.T.A.R. Labs. Martin ends up having a stroke during his speech.

In another world, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is still alive and the founder of the futuristic S.T.A.R. Labs.
