'The Flash' Season 2 Ep 2 spoilers: Twitter Reacts Shantel VanSanten Patty Spivot/Barry Allen!

The CW network continues with Season 2 of The Flash. In the previous Episode 2, Twitter had lots to say about Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten). which actually caused Iris West (Candice Patton) shippers to worry.

In our previous recap, time has passed since the singularity almost swallowed up Central City. Unfortunately, there were casualties that plagued the scarlet speedster since his latest victory. Running out of time, with the Flash exhausting his powers, Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) and Martin Stein (Victor Garber) merged together once more to become Firestorm. After blowing themselves up, Barry could only save Martin as Caitlin lost her true love again.

In our recent recap, Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), the Silver Age Flash, made his introduction and warned Barry about Zoom (Tony Todd). Barry was just as reluctant to work with Jay as Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) was unwilling to partner up with Patty. While Barry partnered up with Jay to take on the Sand Demon, Joe realized he needed a new member for his metahuman task force. Barry and Jay ended up rescuing Patty in the nick of time from their common enemy.

In an interview with Variety, executive producer Aaron Helbing teases the new romantic triangle, "I would say Iris is always Barry's lightning rod, best friend, first love of his life. But she just lost Eddie [Rick Cosnett], so as she is dealing with this and Barry and Iris are slipping back into that friendship mold, it leaves an opportunity to explore a relationship with Patty. We'll see how that develops. But Iris and Barry are childhood friends and loves and that's always going to be there for both of them."
