It's been several years since the finale of MTV's scripted drama series The Hills, but its two blonde-haired blue-eyed villains, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, are still talking about the show's heroine Lauren Conrad.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Montag talked about having to play up her friendship with Conrad early on for television viewers when in reality they never got along.

"I spent years pretending to like her for a living," Montag said about her former roommate. "It was literally my job to deal with her, and it wasn't pleasant... I had nothing to do with her problems. I even tried to help her. The fact is, she lied about me and tried to destroy my life, yet I was the one painted as the villain so the show could have her as the good guy."

Many cast members of the show have spoken about how storylines were fabricated throughout its filming. However, Montag and Pratt have been unable to shake their on-screen personas. Maybe they were a little too convincing?

In a recent interview with Complex magazine the two shared a very honest and tequila-fueled story about their experiences after the show. What they regretted the most from acting out on television is how it affected their families. Pratt is currently at odds with his sister Stephanie Pratt (who is now on the reality-series Made In Chelsea) and mother, and only stays in touch with his father. Montag's family made an appearance in the show when Montag ultimately chose Spencer over her own mother.

"They paid off her mom and her sister, who were broke. They were writing them twenty thousand dollar checks to be Team LC," said Pratt.

The serial reality stars have chosen to remain brutally honest about their opinions of Lauren Conrad now that they are no longer in MTV's pocket so to speak.

"I don't wish her any ill will, but I also don't have to lie for her or play along with her storyline as part of my job anymore," said Montag.
