'Agent Carter' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Hayley Atwell, Kurtwood Smith Fight Vernon Masters?

Joining Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel's Agent Carter returns for Season 2 on ABC. In the upcoming new season, audiences will Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) reunite with her sidekick, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy) to fight Vernon Masters (Kurtwood Smith)?

As we previously mentioned, the second season plot synopsis follows, Carter had become dedicated to the fight against the new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II. Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home, and maybe even find a new love, Carter is about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood masks a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Robocop actor has joined the sophomore season cast. Smith will play Vernon Masters, a veteran of the War Department. Like his last name says, Masters has a keen understanding of how to work the system. No word yet if Vernon happens to be a friend or foe to Peggy.

Smith finds hims working again with the Agent Carter showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas. This marks a reunion for the actor and show runners, who previously worked together on Resurrection.

As we mentioned before, Wynn Everett has landed the role of Whitney Frost, better known as the villainous Madame Masque. Lotte Verbeek joins the cast as Ana Jarvis, and Currie Graham is Whitney's high-powered businessman husband Calvin Chadwick. Reggie Austin will play Jason Wilkes, a quirky scientist who charms Peggy. Not only will Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) return, so will the evil Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan)

The second season of Marvel's Agent Carter will premiere sometime in 2016.
