Considering that Tom Cruise is basically the face of Scientology, it's not really a surprise to hear that insulting him is also, therefore, criticizing the Church. And per a new interview with former scientologist, actress Leah Remini, if you do so then you are certainly considered "evil" in the church's all-encompassing eye.

The King of Queens star's interview is airing on ABC's 20/20. During such, the actress admits the nerves that come with deciding to up and leave the church, specifically because in doing so you are "giving up everything you've worked for your whole life."

Furthermore, she says in the interview, "I feel that people need to understand this has been my whole life, and I want them to understand how it happens. As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world. The mindset that becomes 'us against them.'"

She then admits that being critical of Cruise is also being critical of the Church. "You are evil," she says.

Remini left the Church back in 2013 due to some issues she had with their practices. Furthermore, she had no interest in raising her daughter as a scientologist.

Check out the promo of Remini's upcoming interview with ABC News below:

Remini is one of the many notable names in Hollywood who once found themselves inside the walls of the Church of Scientology but came out upon realizing they disagree with some of the religion's practices. HBO's recent documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief detailed the inner happenings of the church, and interviewed the likes of former scientologists Paul Haggis, Jason Beghe, and more.
