In the third episode of his web-series with Vice Sports, Stay Melo, Carmelo Anthony comments on how life is in New York City, explaining that every New Yorker (himself, included) has a love-hate relationship with NYC, as he claimed, "Man, f*ck this place."

To back up a little bit, Carmelo Anthony is a small forward on the New York Knicks, who forced his way into his hometown team. Back in 2011, Melo was traded to the Knicks from the Denver Nuggets by signing a 5-year contract with the Knicks. He then signed another 5-year contract this summer (with a no-trade clause and early extermination option) to stay with the Knicks, according to CBS Sports.

Now, Anthony has been working with Vice Sports to release short documentary-style videos, all part of his video series, Stay Melo in which he shows the media and fans another side of him that people may not have been aware of before.

There's no doubt that Melo loves New York, especially considering the fact that he chose to stay in New York (the city that raised him) despite last season's horrific record, where the Knicks only won 17 of 82 regular season games. So, for Melo to claim "F*ck this place," may come off a bit hostile, but it's perfectly normal given the context.

In his latest episode of Stay Melo, Anthony spoke on the New York City lifestyle and his relationship with New York and the media, as he showed viewers his artistic side alongside street artist Swoon, took viewers to his childhood home in Red Hook, Brooklyn and readied himself for the regular season alongside former teammate, Iman Shumpert, in his personal gym at Terminal 23.

"New York is the greatest city on the planet, I think," Anthony said, as reported by the New York Post. "But you're not a New Yorker if you don't wake up some days and be like, 'Man, f--- this place.' You know what I mean? Like, I don't care who you are. You can be the mayor, you can be the governor, all the way down to the mailman. Everybody wakes up some days and says, 'Man, f--- New York.'"

"New York is [known] for being the best," he continued. "With that being said, it's no patience here in New York. So you kind of adapt to that mentality, to that mindset. That's the reason that it's so kind of up-and-down here. One day you're the best thing since sliced bread and one day you're the scum on the bottom of somebody's shoe."
