It's happened, folks. Donald Trump has officially been, well, trumped in a national poll. Per a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Carson has taken the lead over the former frontrunner by a spread of 29% to 23%. With that, it appears senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are slowly creeping up.

The WSJ notes that this is the first time since June that Trump has not been in the top spot. Of course, perhaps that was only true then because the former Celebrity Apprentice star made his announcement to run back in June at Trump Tower in New York City.

With this in mind, we're curious if Trump will start to reconsider his campaign, as he told Meet the Press host Chuck Todd earlier in October that should he start to see polls indicating that he could in fact lose the race, he would simply drop out.

Of course, we'll have to wait and see what transpires with that.

The new poll also indicates that Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz rank in third and fourth place in the race, with Rubio getting 11% of the support and Cruz at 10%.

This of course might not be a total shocker to many who watched last Wednesday night's Republican debate on CNBC. It was there that Rubio stepped ahead when he slammed presidential hopeful Jeb Bush for an attack he felt was coming at him only because someone expressed that it could help Bush's campaign.

Cruz, on the other hand, gained some recognition for calling out the moderators during the debate, accusing them of making the event more of a "cage match" and less of a national debate.
