The self-proclaimed rich girl is back! NeNe Leakes is headed back to The Real Housewives of Atlanta and fans haven't been able to contain their excitement since the news was previously reported earlier this month. The veteran star of the series, who has been with the show since the beginning, opened up and said that it wouldn't make sense if she wasn't part of season 8, because you can't have RHOA without her. Not only that but she will also be headed to Broadway for a run in the musical Chicago in the coming days.

With all of this on the horizon, Leakes had a lot to talk about when she sat down with E! News to share her thoughts on returning to the series that propelled her to stardom, as well as how she feels about singing on the Great White Way.

"I feel like the Housewives of Atlanta is my show. Just keepin' it real with you," the star told the news site. "I think when you say Housewives of Atlanta, people say NeNe Leakes. Even with me not being on the show. I'll always have love for Housewives of Atlanta."

However, Leakes will only be on the new season for a few episodes, as she reportedly dropped in unexpectedly to the gals' getaway trip in Jamaica, which we are sure caused some drama between the ladies.

"You'll have to wait and tune in to see how they received me, but I would have to say that everyone didn't receive me well," the star explained of the vacation, according to Reality Tea. "I enjoyed meeting Kim Fields. She's an actress as well, so we had that connection, and I think she is a very nice lady, however, I thought she was an odd fit."

In addition to that Leakes will also be returning to Broadway following her stint in Cinderella, as she will portray Mama Morton in Chicago. She also opened up about her experience with rehearsals and getting herself ready for the gig. according to TVDeets.

"I'm very excited to do it although the schedules are very tough. Tough schedules to be on Broadway. Broadway is no piece of cake," the actress explained. "Every actor who knows Broadway knows...those schedules are crazy and when you get up there and those curtains open, you have to be on. So whatever it takes, you gotta be that character. So I'm excited to do it. I love acting. It's my first love. I'll be singing this time!"
