During Kentucky's 74-63 win over Duke on Tuesday night, Alex Poythress, forward for the Wildcats, finished an alley-oop from freshman Jamal Murray. An exciting play in and of itself, but relatively routine for the likes of Kentucky. However, as Poythress was descending from his leap he hit a snag. It was his tooth. It was stuck in the net.

Watch the tooth wrenching moment below. (Fair warning: watching it gives all the feels of nails scraping down a chalkboard.)

Told you. However, like watching somebody on ice skates who can only stop by running into walls, you can't look away. Here's a slow motion replay:

The actual act of the tooth getting stuck in the net is both parts impressive and fluky. Think about it, the net hangs down what, a foot or two from the rim? That means that his head--scratch that--his teeth, are a good eight and a half feet into the air at the cringe worthy moment. Maybe even nine. It's a fact that 1% of human beings can do that. Also, having a tooth grip the net like that? About as likely as the sun rising in the west.

However, Poythress didn't let a little tooth pulling keep him down. He went on to finish with nine points, seven rebounds and one block in 30 minutes of action, via Bleacher report. The Wildcats are coming off a disappointing season last year--one that saw them lose in the Final Four to Wisconsin after 38 consecutive wins--but look to be set for another strong push after beating No. 5 Duke, putting them at a perfect 3-0 on the year.

Kentucky and Poythress are sure to have an exciting year full of highlight reel worthy moments. However, it's unlikely they'll score a more unconventional two points.
