Ronda Rousey got knocked out by Holly Holm at UFC 193. By now, everybody knows that. But the pain doesn't stop there for Rousey. On Tuesday, she was issued a medical suspension by the UFC announcing that she will be out of the Octagon for up to six months.

The UFC provided the suspensions to MMA LLC, which acts as the record and suspension keeper for the Association of Boxing Commissions. This information is usually kept private by the state athletic commissions, however, as there is no sanctioning organization in Australia for mixed martial arts, the UFC went ahead and decided to make the information public.

In it, it states Rousey will be held out of the octagon for 180 days, although she could be cleared to compete earlier if a CT scan reveals she hasn't sustained any head damage. As part of her suspension, she's not allowed to fight for 60 days, or partake in any "contact training" for 45.

The blockbuster fight in Melbourne was one that saw--to use a boxing term--Rousey on the ropes for much of the fight. Holm was dictating every move before rattling Rousey early in the second round, ultimately ending the fight with a vicious leg kick to the side of Rousey's head.

Rousey arrived back in Los Angeles earlier this week, making her first public appearance stateside since the historic fight. It was apparent she didn't want to talk to anyone, or be seen for that matter, taking extreme measures to make sure nobody saw her face--hood up, sunglasses on, and head down in a pillow.

After the bout with Holm, Rousey had previously stated that she intended to take some time off. This still rings true. However, now it looks like that's because she has to, not because she wants to.
