The midseason finales of Arrow are always thrilling rides that leave us wanting more as we head into the winter break, and the Season 4 edition looks like it will be no different according to the official description that has just been released. There are spoilers ahead, so be warned. Team Arrow has been skirmishing with Damien Darhk for much this year, with the exception of a few detours into setting up DC's Legends of Tomorrow. But it looks like the battle is set to kick into high gear, at least according to the official plot synopsis published by Comic Book Movie.

"OLIVER TAKES ON HIVE — After the city is attacked again, Oliver (Stephen Amell) makes a bold move against HIVE. Malcolm (John Barrowman) checks in on Thea (Willa Holland) and leaves her with a warning. Things take a horrible turn when Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) retaliates in a brutal manner at Oliver’s mayoral holiday party. John Behring directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Ben Sokolowski."

At first glance, it sounds like this episode could feature the major death that was teased in the flash forward at the end of the season premiere. But the timeline does not quite line up, as that scene said "six months later" and we're only about three months removed, at most, from the Season 4 opener.

That does not mean, however, that something horrific wouldn't happen in this episode. Darhk could easily kill a lesser character, or at the very least make Oliver's life a living hell somehow by kidnapping or maiming one of his loved ones.

It is also possible that we see another tease of the future and/or get another clue as to the identity of the person in the grave from the premiere. We'll just have to wait another few weeks and see for ourselves.
