Bad news for American Music Award winning singer Nicki Minaj since she may have had to bail out brother Jelani Maraj out of jail yesterday. Newsday reported that Jelani was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old child. The Nassau County District Attorney did not release information regarding the case, but the accused was arraigned for felony first degree rape and first degree sexual conduct. He was released afterwards after bail was set for $100,000.

In August, the platinum selling recording artist attended her big brothers wedding to fiance Jacqueline Robinson at Coral House in Baldwin, Long Island. According to the newspaper, Maraj and wife resides there.

During happier times, the "Anaconda" singer posted photos while attending the wedding and congratulated the couple. In a touching post, she wrote about the 37-year old brother, "I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man." Another post said, "Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile."

According to Eonline, the bride's photo of her gown was not revealed on any posts but sister Minaj informed fans that she "looked stunning" and "like royalty." Minaj also plugged designer brand Alexander McQueen for her dress, as well as her mom and the bride's dresses.

Hopefully, the rape charges won't damper the Trinidadian star's possible plans to celebrate her 33rd birthday on December 8th. The Pinkprint singer has not released a statement, as of yet and it is unclear whether or not the brother will plead guilty or not since his attorney has not be named in the media.
