There is so much trouble surrounding Tupac Shakur biopic that is currently in production with its third director, Benny Boom. Recently, both Carl Franklin and John Singleton quit the Morgans Creek project and The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the slain rapper's mother Afeni was sued by the production company for the music rights, plus a $10 million lawsuit brought on former producers Emmett/Furla Oasis. Now convicted music executive and former manager of rapper The Game, James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond is threatening to sue all parties that publish or broadcast any allegations that he in fact confessed to shooting Shakur at Quad Studios in 1994 and according to a press released distributed to MStars News, "he will not hesitate to proceed with a lawsuit for damages."

Perhaps what sparked the current chain of events regarding Rosemond is a recent article in XXL magazine that says music manager allegedly confessed to the crime. The article read, "More than fifteen years later in 2011, an associate of Jimmy Henchman, Dexter Isaacs, admitted to carrying out the attack on the deceased Shakur. Henchman confessed to setting up the hit a year later in 2012."

Today, attorney Bruce Maffeo of law firm Cozen O'Connor is attempting to put the rumors to rest by releasing a statement confirming that his client would pursue legal action if Mr. Rosemond is falsly accused of the Tupac shooting at Quad Studios.

Maffeo states, "The allegation that James Rosemond "confessed" to shooting Tupac is completely false. There is no foundation for it in any of the documents I have reviewed as Jim's criminal lawyer, and any statement otherwise is just another attempt to recirculate a baseless rumor that should have been laid to rest years ago. Mr. Rosemond specifically reserves all of his legal rights and remedies in the event of any further publication."

The press release also states that in 2012, "the rumor was sparked by U.S. Prosecutor Sonya Dayanda who mentioned the shooting at a sidebar with Judge John Gleeson and not in open court. The federal prosecutor apologized to Rosemond's previous attorney, Gerald Shargall for the mishap immediately afterwards."

It's unfortunate that the "Me Against The World" rapper's movie is tainted by such controversy. Meanwhile, Henchman maintains his innocence and plans to address the allegations on his official website and social media pages, once his appellate process is completed.

MStars News previously reported about Benny Boom taking over the production.
