'Lucha Underground' Season 2: Rey Mysterio Joins Mark Burnett, Robert Rodriguez's Trailer!

From Emmy award-winning Mark Burnett (Survivor) and Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn) , Season 2 of Lucha Underground has released an all-new trailer before its premiere on the El Rey Network. Get ready for Rey Mysterio's freestyle wrestling and high-flying in January!

As we previously mentioned, El Rey presented audiences with the world of Lucha Libre, the no-holds barred world of freestyle wrestling and high-flying aerial maneuvers. In Mexico's most popular sport, the masked villains and heroes confront against each other in one-on-one matches. El Rey Network, the Survivor creator, and United Artists Media Group announced that their wrestling series is returning for a sophomore season. Lucha Underground was heading back into production in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

We also mentioned, before the official premiere, there will be 5 hours of back-to-back episodes from the first season on Wednesdays 8pm beginning January 6th. Then there will be an epic weekend long, 40-hour marathon of the entire season from Saturday, January 23 at 10 AM to Sunday, January 24 at 2 AM.

In an interview with Wrestlezone, Rey Mysterio describes making the move from WWE to Luch Underground, "I never dreamed of going to WWE or WCW, my dream was always making it to CMLL because AAA didn't exist back then. And then, next thing you know AAA started, the opportunity came. My base was always high-flying. I always wanted to get the opportunity to show the world what I can do. So there was no other company out there that was displaying that but Lucha Underground. When I saw the first season, I was blown away."

Season 2 of Lucha Underground will premiere Wednesday, January 27 at 8pm.
