If it's one thing newcomer Daisy Ridley wants you to get out of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it's a connection to her character, Rey. Instead, it seems many people have made the connection that the actress looks like fellow British star, Keira Knightley, and Ridley is opening up about how she's not happy about the comparison.

Ridley, the newest star in the Star Wars franchise, told the Daily Mail, "This [comparison] is the one thing I'm actually so 'ugh!' about. But it's like, why do I have to be like someone else?"

She goes on to say, "People have always said that I look like Keira Knightley. But it is actually really frustrating. Keira Knightley is wonderful and has her own thing. I just think to compare a 23-year-old girl to anyone else is so unnecessary."

It appears the comparison to Knightley is not really the issue, the star just doesn't want to be compared to anyone else, period, saying, "I just think every single person in the world has their own thing going on. And I just want to be me."

With the massive success of the film, and wide praise for her role as Rey, Ridley shouldn't have any problem standing out. Critics and fans alike are praising the film (and Ridley) for bringing to life a strong, real and relatable hero who also happens to be a woman.

Vanity Fair puts it this way: "And while Rey is definitely tough, talented, and spunky, she doesn't fall into the same trap so many "strong female characters" do."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in theaters now. The film opened to a record-breaking $238 million in the U.S. alone. This shatters the previous record of $208 million in domestic earnings held by Jurassic World, which debuted this summer.
