Tim Duncan, Forward for the San Antonio Spurs, didn't score a point in Saturday night's game against the Houston Rockets. Which marked the first time in his 19 year NBA career that such a thing has happened (or hasn't happened, depending on how you look at it).

Think about that, over the span of 19 years in the world's best basketball league, every game that Duncan has laced 'em up he has scored at least a point--a testament to just how incredible Duncan has been.

To be fair to Duncan, though, he played just under 14 minutes in the Spurs 121-103 victory over the Rockets. And while he would miss all 3 of the shots he took, he did register 4 rebounds and a pair of assists. According to Manu Ginobili, however, this was something that was always going to happen, considering Duncan's age and all.

"I just heard," guard Manu Ginobili said, when asked for his thoughts about the basketball anomaly, via ESPN. "It's very unusual, of course, but he didn't play much. He hadn't played in a week. If he's playing until he's 48, I guess he's gonna have that a couple more times."

Duncan had missed the previous 3 games due to soreness in his right knee. His 0-point night snapped a streak of 1,359 games in which he had scored at least one point. It was the longest such streak any player has enjoyed to begin their NBA career (a weird thing to say about someone who is in their 19th season).

And while Duncan was unavailable for comment, Danny Green shed some light on the situation.

"I didn't realize that. It's gonna happen," Green said, when asked about Duncan's night, via ESPN. "It's rare. At his age, you expect that, but not from Timmy. The way he's been playing each year, he makes it look easy. I don't think he played a ton either tonight. It's his first game back in three games. He's still trying to get his rhythm, but he didn't get many attempts, either. We don't need him to score for us to be effective. He rebounds. He outlets. He alters shots, blocks shots. He's great for us on the defensive end of the floor. Timmy's gonna do what he does. It's only a matter of time."

Well said, Danny. That just about says it all.
