FX Gives Louis C.K., Albert Books an Animated Comedy Pilot Before 'Louie' New Season

Comedians Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks will team up to create an animated pilot for FX. Both comics will voice the lead roles in the series, which means that while we're all waiting for a new season of Louie, well, we're going to have to wait some more.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the duo will not only star in the pilot, but they will also create and co-write it together. C.K. has already made his mark at FX, creating and starring (and editing and directing and producing and blah, blah, blah) the hit aforementioned series Louie, which has done five seasons thus far at the network and is currently in its second hiatus – an "extended" one. Brooks, on the other hand, will earn himself his "first television credit following feature work," per THR.

Brooks is of legendary status in the field of stand-up comedy and is famed for lending his voice to the 2003 film, Finding Nemo. He'll be doing so yet again in the 2016 sequel, Finding Dory.

The now unnamed C.K.-Brooks pilot isn't the first time the two stand-ups have worked together; they both lent their voices for The Secret Life of Pets, which will be released this year.

Alongside this pilot, C.K. is gearing up for the premiere of his new series Baskets, also on FX, alongside The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis. The trailer was first released back in September of last year. It stars Galifianakis as Chip Baskets, a man "who leaves his job in the corporate world to pursue his dreams of becoming a clown."

Baskets will premiere on Thursday, January 21.

As far as new episodes of Louie, well, who knows. But we're blindly hopeful.
