The Meredith Vieira Talk Show has been canceled after just two seasons. The news came out today that in the spring, Vieira and crew will be saying good-bye.

Not long after the news broke, Vieira reacted to the news that the show she was oh so proud of was not getting renewed for a third season. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, she told fans that she was sorry the show would be coming to an end. She went on to talk about how proud she was of her staff and how grateful she was for her devoted fans. The talk show host also promised her viewers that the remaining episodes would be some of the best broadcasts of the show.

The syndicated talks show first aired back in September 2014 and came out of the gate with strong ratings. However, despite Vieira being her oh-so-entertaining self and getting a slew of awesome guests, by spring 2015, the show had declined seriously in ratings. Despite revamping the format for season two, the viewers never seemed to give the former Today show host a second chance.

In all honesty, as a viewer of the show, it comes as no surprise it was canceled. Although Meredith Vieira is an amazing reporter, interviewer and host in an ensemble setting, she was not all that specular as a host on her own. That is not a jab at her or anything -- just simply one viewer's opinion. There was always a little something lacking when she was doing a one-on-one segment, yet her round table discussion that took place during each show were by far the most entertaining segments of the hour.

Don't feel too sorry for Meredith Vieira now that her talk show has been canceled; she is going to be just fine. After her show is done, she will still continue to be super busy, covering the 2016 Summer Olympics for NBC in Rio, as well as still hosting the syndicated game show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
