The January 4, 2016 episode of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, and Roman Reigns defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus in the main event with Vince McMahon as the special guest referee. We've got the full results of the show, so let's see what happened.

The show begins with Stephanie McMahon, but Roman Reigns' music cuts her off before she gets halfway to the ring. He says we don't need her out here because tonight is about her dad, and he wants to talk to Vince McMahon right now. Stephanie says he's not here yet.

Reigns says no one is taking the title from him because it is his life, and Stephanie says he has no chance to win tonight. But after he loses the title, he's not going to be fired. Instead, she's going to use him until he breaks down, but he's never going to get another shot at the belt. She starts to talk about his father but Reigns cuts her off and says if anyone tries to screw him tonight, then she'll be picking up her father at the hospital.

We learn that Brock Lesnar will be on Raw next week!

Kevin Owens defeats Neville with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. He attacks Neville after the match and goes for an Apron Powerbomb but Dean Ambrose, who was on commentary for the match, makes the save. Ambrose flies off the barricade and elbow drops Owens through the announce table.

A limo pulls up backstage and Vince McMahon steps out. JoJo interviews him about last week's arrest and he says that whole situation is behind him. He broke the law last week, but tonight he is the law.

Titus O'Neil defeats Stardust with Clash of the Titus.

Becky Lynch is backstage getting ready for a match when Charlotte comes up and asks her if she requested this match. Becky says no, but she is excited for the competition. Ric Flair then comes up and WOOOOOOOs!

Becky defeats Charlotte despite some interference from Flair. He grabs her leg at one point and Charlotte goes for a roll up, but Becky counters it and hooks some tights for the pin. Charlotte loses it and attacks Becky from behind and follows that up with a spear.

Vince McMahon is backstage when Sheamus comes in and shakes his hand. Vince says he called him here because he wanted to go over some pre-fight instructions: no outside interference, use of foreign objects, or other such shenanigans. But above all, he must obey Vince's commands, and may the luck of the Irish be with him.

Big Show vs. Ryback barely gets off the ground because The Wyatt Family interferes and takes out both men.

Alberto Del Rio and Rusev defeat The Usos after Del Rio drops an Uso with the double foot stomp while he was hanging off the middle rope.

Dolph Ziggler is out for a match with Heath Slater, who emerges with Bo Dallas, Adam Rose, and Curtis Axel. Slater manages to win the match and then cuts an absurd promo afterwards.

To hype the first Thursday Night SmackDown episode on the USA Network, we learn that Dean Ambrose will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kevin Owens and Charlotte will defend the WWE Divas Championship against Becky Lynch.

Vince McMahon gives the pre-match instructions to Roman Reigns.

The New Day comes out to cut a promo, but Chris Jericho interrupts them! They trade some barbs until Jericho announces that he will be in this year's Royal Rumble match!

The New Day then defeats Kalisto and The Dudley Boyz.

Vince McMahon comes out in a sleeveless referee shirt and holy cow is he ripped for a 70-year-old man! Of course, he doesn't call the match down the middle. He turns his back and lets Sheamus hit Reigns with the steel steps. He fast counts when Sheamus covers Reigns. He slow counts when Reigns covers Sheamus, pretends he has something in his eye, or flat out refuses to count.

Reigns finally gets fed up and Superman Punches the boss. He spears Sheamus, but there's no referee to count the pin. Sheamus sneak attacks him, and Reigns loses it. He tosses Sheamus over the announce table and then sets his sights on Vince again. As he moves in for the kill, Stephanie McMahon's music hits and she gets on the apron, so Reigns throws Vince into Stephanie.

Reigns prepares to spear Vince, but Sheamus tags him with two Brogue Kicks. Sheamus calls for another referee, and Scott Armstrong comes down. Despite the quick count, Reigns still kicks out. Armstrong holds Reigns up for another kick, but he breaks free and delivers a Superman Punch to both Sheamus and Armstrong. He spears Sheamus, and a third official counts the pin. Reigns retains the title!

An angry Vince knocks out the official and grabs a microphone. He says Reigns will defend the title at Royal Rumble against 29 other men in the 30-man Royal Rumble match! Stephanie and Vince laugh as the show goes off the air
