'Grease Live' Casting News: Is Boyz II Men Taking on Pivotal Role for the Show?

There is major casting news for Grease Live and it involves Boyz II Men! It has just been announced that the R&B group is going to be the Teen Angels. This is a very good move for both the show and the group.

Stepping into the shoes previously worn by Frankie Avalon, the guys will sing the infamous song, "Beauty School Drop Out," to a sad Frenchy. Carly Rae Jepsen is set to take on the role of Frenchy, so this pivotal movie scene will no doubt be even more amazing live with this crew. It is going to be one heck of a show and the excitement and anticipation is killing me!

The news that Boyz II Men is joining the Grease Live cast came courtesy of the band via Twitter. Shawn Stockman, Nathan Morris and Wanya Morris included a video with the Tweet. The video will definitely get fans ready for the big event, which takes place on Fox on January 31^st.  It is an awesome reminder of just how amazing and talented this band really is, not that anyone needed reminding of that.

Ever since Fox announced that they were going to do a live broadcast of the hit movie, there has been a lot of hype surrounding it. The network took a page out of NBC's playbook when deciding to take the plunge into doing a live musical. Hopefully the powers that be learned from some of the issues that NBC had with Peter Pan and The Sound of Music, not that either of those shows were bad -- but there was a learning curve.
