The first episode of WWE's Thursday Night SmackDown on the USA Network will air tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern, and the main event pits Dean Ambrose against Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship. We've got full spoilers from the show for you, so let's dive into them.

John Cena opens the show and cuts a promo on Alberto Del Rio. Cena wants another shot at the WWE United States Championship, but the champ refuses. The news of Cena's injury likely plays into this segment somehow.

Kalisto then defeats Del Rio in a non-title match.

The Miz hosts Miz TV, which includes The New Day coming down to insult Chris Jericho as payback for what happened on Monday Night Raw. Dolph Ziggler, Neville, R-Truth, and Goldust all hit the ring, and this leads to an eight-man tag team match in which the four aforementioned wrestlers defeat New Day and Miz. It's unclear what the purpose is here, as this is a random assortment of babyfaces to throw together. Is it possible that Ziggler is putting his own group together to combat Heath Slater's group following the events of Raw?

Charlotte defeats Becky Lynch to retain the WWE Divas Championship thanks to an assist from her father, Ric Flair.

Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens fight to a double count out (or possibly double disqualification, depending on how you look at it) when the match turns into a brawl that spills outside the ring. They eventually wind up on the stage and Ambrose hurls Owens into the LED sign to close the show.
