Chuck Inglish announces solo album, debuts track with Chromeo

By alex-galbraith | Jan 17, 2014 11:52 AM EST

It's been an absolutely fantastic week for slick '70s revivalists Chromeo. The disco-indebted former buzz band watched from the sidelines as Daft Punk made their brand of music cool again in 2013 and burst out this year with a Toro Y Moi collab. Now, they've teamed up with Chuck Inglish of the newly reunited Cool Kids on "Legs", the first single off Chuck's solo debut Convertibles Read More »

Bass Drum Of Death have an album in their discography called GB City. And did we mention their name is Bass Drum Of Death? By alex-galbraith | Jan 16, 2014 02:07 PM EST

This last year has been a great time to be a fan of Queen (more so than any other time is an excellent time to fan of Queen, that is). First we had the never-before-heard collaborations between Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury. Now, we have a previously undiscovered Queen track - complete with Mercury vocals - that Brian May says is "magic." Read More »

Man Man - Loot My Body

By alex-galbraith | Jan 16, 2014 01:29 PM EST

Man Man may have toned down the weird for their latest album On Oni Pond, but they want you to know that their live show still gets weird as all hell. Their latest music video for "Loot My Body." The clip is awash in bright colors, confetti, strange masks, crowdsurfers and general pantslessness. Oh, and it also clears up any questions you might have had about the lyrics. Read More »

Young Chris - OG Bobby Johnson (Que Remix)

By alex-galbraith | Jan 15, 2014 12:30 PM EST

IT BEGINS. If you've heard Que's viral hit "OG Bobby Johnson" at any point in the last few weeks, you are probably still singing it to yourself. That's a platform that makes up-and-comers' mouths water. This is one of the first freestyles over the track, but you're a fool if you think it will be the last. Read More »

Pusha T feat. Kendrick Lamar 'Nosetalgia' [LISTEN] 'My Name Is My Name' Continues Looking Dark, Chilly On K-Dot Collab

By alex-galbraith | Sep 17, 2013 02:54 PM EDT

Pusha T reminds us why his name is his name on "Nosestalgia" (ugh), a Kendrick Lamar-featuring track from his new album. The unrelenting, drug-pushing recollection is as bleak and downtrodden as all the other tracks we've heard from Pusha's latest, leaving us to wonder if the entire thing will be one long soul-crushing slog (the bright guitar stabs suggest Pusha isn't going to make us stare into the abyss for too long, but who knows?). I mean, even Pusha's associates K-Dot and Kanye put one or two uplifting tracks into their recent otherwise desolate albums (Kendrick: "Compton", "Real"; Kanye: "Bound 2"), but maybe Pusha is taking a cue from the final season of Breaking Bad and things will only get worse.
