Jeff Hanneman, founder and guitarist of the thrash metal band Slayer, died earlier ths month at the age of 49. Initial reports claimed that the rocker's death was a result of complications arising from an infectious spider bite Hanneman received years ago. But according to disease specialist Kent Sepkowitz, that's unlikely the case. Hanneman's fellow bandmates recently released a statement on Slayer's website, explaining that Hanneman actually passed away from the alcohol-related liver disease cirrhosis. Reports confirm that the remains of a young girl that were discovered back in March officially belong to 13-year-old Hailey Darlene Dunn, a middle school cheerleader from Texas who went missing in 2010. The Scurry County Sheriff's Office conducted DNA tests and confirmed the positive identity on Friday, April 26. A police investigation is currently underway, and several people (including Dunn's grandmother Connie Jones) believe that she was murdered. Reports confirm that Karl Berry, the captain of a popular Australian field hockey team, died after being bite by a venomous snake during training practice on Tuesday, April 23. Before embarking on a mile-long sprint, the 26-year-old athlete picked up a snake in order to carry it off the field. Turns out that the Western Brown reptile, one of Australia's most-venomous creatures, bite him in the finger unnoticed. During a Furthur concert in Port Chester, NY on Thursday evening (April 25), former Grateful Dead founder and guitarist Bob Weir stumbled and collapsed on stage during a live performance of "Unbroken Chain."
