The National Football Foundation had a dinner this week. It's called the National Football Foundation dinner. It was held in New York and lots of big names were there like legendary quarterback, Roger Staubach, and NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell. The former gave a speech. Not surprisingly, he not opened with a joke. However, the joke was aimed at the topic of concussions, a hot topic in the NFL right now. Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder, Jason Heyward, has reportedly agreed to terms with the Chicago Cubs. According to reports, it's an 8-year deal worth $184 million. The Cardinals are believed to have offered Heyward $200 million, meaning he took less money to move to Chicago. Which has caused quite the stir in St. Louis and fans are sharing it on Twitter. Take Stuart Pfeifer, for example. The 51-year-old had been a Los Angeles Times reporter for 15 years before taking a buyout last month, ending his 28-year-long career in the field. A life altering moment, for sure. But perhaps not in the way he thought. Pfeifer--in a decision aided by his loss of employment--decided to enter a poker tournament. Kevin Durant, forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is a superstar in the NBA. His height, paired with his smooth jumper and expert handles, make him a mismatch for virtually every defender he encounters. Sometimes, he even brings defenders to the floor. Weeks after Tyson Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko in a world championship heavyweight bout in Dusseldorf, he's once again in the news -- this time for a less spectacular achievement. Eighty Boston College students, including members of its men's basketball team, got sick after eating at a local Chipotle, according to CNN. This makes for a couple of rough months for the popular Mexican restaurant. Since October, E. coli has been linked to a number of Chipotles throughout the country, making people sick in at least nine states. Bennet Omalu has proposed a radical idea for sports--football, specifically. In an op-ed published for the New York Times, the forensic pathologist lobbied for an age limit to be put on kids playing the sport--much like the restrictions on cigarettes, alcohol, and consenting for sex.
