Back in March of 2015, a heckler threw a banana at Dave Chappelle while he was doing a stand-up comedy set in New Mexico, which the comedian took as a racist act. Now that man, Christian Englander, 30, of Santa Fe, is facing charges of disturbing the peace and battery. Jury selection for Englander's trial is set for September 23rd. For a while now the media has been up in arms against legendary stand-up and TV comedian Bill Cosby, who ten years ago admitted to drugging women with Quaaludes in order to be able to have sex with them. Recently it has come to light that there was indeed a doctor who was prescribing these pills to Cosby specifically. It's hard to believe that this physician didn't question how the prescription was to be used but according to the Washington Post, Cosby received seven prescriptions from Leroy Amar, "a gynecologist and plastic surgeon," who was licensed in California, New York and Maryland throughout his troubled career. Comedian Jimmy Pardo is showing off his hosting chops yet again and taking the lead as the master of ceremonies for the new Science Channel series Race to Escape. Pardo, the longtime host of the oh-so-popular podcast Never Not Funny, brings his quick-witted humor to this puzzle-based game show. The series, which kicks off Saturday, July 25 at 10 p.m., pins two teams of three against one another, with both teams being locked in two separate, but identical, rooms. Comedian Wyatt Cenac recently made an appearance on Marc Maron's WTF podcast and admitted that he and Daily Show host Jon Stewart had a little bit of a rocky relationship while he was at the show. Longtime Bill Cosby fans David Letterman and Jerry Seinfeld have chosen to take their names, and comments praising the comedian, out of his 2014 biography Cosby: His Life and Times. The yank isn't too shocking considering Cosby's rape and sexual assault allegations, yet it seems the duo aren't the only ones whose names are being pulled. The book's publisher, Simon and Schuster, are pulling all the celeb blurbs from the books appearing on Amazon, according to the Associated Press. Read More »
Critics had a field day when it came to Trevor Noah being announced as the replacement to The Daily Show's Jon Stewart. When it was released to the public that the then-unknown South African comic would take the seat Stewart has sat in since 1999 – maybe not literally – it seemed backlash instantly followed. Comedian Norm Macdonald appears to have some rather questionable opinions on current Late Night host Seth Meyers.
