And despite having found success in both film and television, it is his time on the stage that appears to give him the greatest feeling of elation. The comic, who will be replacing longtime host Jon Stewart, will take to that very same chair on Sept. 28. Stewart left the show back on Aug. 6 – delivering one stellar finale – and there has been much speculation from the media and fans alike as to how the young South African comic will do. Whether or not Bernie Sanders will be the next President of the United States remains to be seen. Something that we know right now, however, is the fact that Sanders and Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David ARE indeed the very same person. Just the other day Josh Ostrovsky, otherwise known as the Fat Jew, signed a huge contract with the talent agency CAA and a lot of people were angry by the move. Tracy Morgan is heading back to Saturday Night Live! This time, however, he'll be serving as the host of his once-upon-a-time home. His episode, which will air on Oct. 17, will be preceded by the likes of Trainwreck star Amy Schumer and Season 41 premiere host Miley Cyrus.The 30 Rock lead's return to SNL is not only exciting because Morgan is hilarious, but also because it'll be one of his first performances since that horrifying car accident back in 2014. Whether or not you're a fan of Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show, it appears safe to say that NBC is. The network has just extended the comedian's contract to 2021. NBC exec Bob Greenblatt announced Thursday that Fallon's contract will be stretched out six more years, believing the former Saturday Night Live player to be a "versatile star." Greenblatt also noted that he and everyone at NBC are fans of Stephen Colbert, who will premiere his Late Show this coming Sept. 8. Read More »
Jim Carrey is returning to television, folks – to a degree. The longtime film actor, who started as a stand up and eventually gained fame on In Living Color, is going to be creating a pilot for Showtime titled I’m Dying Up Here. Comedian Denis Leary might be playing an aging musician on FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll but his newly produced IFC series Benders is the one grabbing the headlines today. The New York Comedy Festival kicks off on Nov. 10, and already the show has some heavy-hitters confirmed to perform. It's being reported that Trainwreck director Judd Apatow will make an appearance at the festival as will soon-to-be Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
