Merry Christmas to the 96,700 morons who follow former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling on Twitter — the arrestingly hypocritical blowhard celebrated the holiday by spewing a slew of irrational thoughts from his bigger-than-he-thinks-people-notice head. In the past 72 hours, Schilling has attacked President Barack Obama, Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel and, in a hilarious twist of irony, the American media. Since that last little entity is what currently employs Schilling, who's eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame for the first time this year, let's start there. Schilling has worked as a baseball analyst for ESPN, the single most rich and powerful sports media company in the world, since 2010, according to the company's website. Who was it again who hyped Schilling's "bloody sock" performance in the 2004 American League Championship Series so hard that it so rapidly cemented into baseball immortality that it basically overshadowed an injury-plagued career mired by regular-season mediocrity? During an interview with ESPN's Colin Cowherd, Obama said the league's missteps constituted "blind spots" when handling the case, which involved a video of Rice punching his then-fiancée in an elevator, according to Sports Illustrated. The league experienced widespread backlash when it suspended Rice for only two games after speculation that it had seen the video before the general public. GOP staffer Elizabeth Lauten posted a disturbing Facebook post that went viral this past weekend about President Barack Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia. The staffer is now set to resign. Lauten told NBC News by phone Monday, Dec. 1, that her resignation is already "in the works." Lauten, the communications director for U.S. Rep. Stephen Fincher, R-Tenn., has since deleted her controversial post, but screen shots of her words remain. "Dear Sasha and Malia," the shamed staffer wrote. "I get you're both in those awful teen years, but you're a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play. Then again your mother and father don't respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I'm guessing you're coming up a little short in the 'good role model' department." The congressional aide worker continued to take jabs at the 16- and 13-year-old first daughters this past Thanksgiving weekend, saying "rise to the occasion.
