Johnny Manziel's season is over, as the Cleveland Browns rookie phenom suffered a hamstring injury against the Carolina Panthers on the weekend and will not play on Sunday at Baltimore. But will Johnny Football return to Cleveland in 2015? Cleveland Browns fans are ready for 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel to take over for Brian Hoyer, who has struggled mightily after a hot start, according to "USA Today." Browns head coach Mike Pettine named Hoyer the starter of the rookie Manziel at the start of the season. Manziel was already one of the most famous and popular football players in the country after an illustrious career at Texas A&M earned him the nickname "Johnny Football." But Hoyer performed well, leading the Browns to a 6-3 start before the wheels began to fall apart. Cleveland is now 1-3 in its last four games, and ESPN reports that Hoyer has led the Browns to just one touchdown drive in his last 29 series. With pressure mounting to make a change, Pettine stuck with Hoyer Sunday, Dec. 7, against the Indianapolis Colts. He went just 14 for 31 for 140 yards, throwing two interceptions. If anybody thought Brian Hoyer was going to go quietly after his benching, they thought wrong. The Cleveland Browns' QB has come out all guns blazing, verbally attacking Johnny Manziel, LeBron James and the NFL, and of course his team. The Washington Redskins thought they had it all figured out. They had the young, talented Robert Griffin III, Colt McCoy and Kirk Cousins, and despite reports suggesting they believe in RG3, there's now rumblings from within their camp, that they don't see him in their future plans. The Cleveland Browns and their QB situation has had more drama than a blockbuster, action movie. Brian Hoyer is their starter, and he wins games, yet he makes silly mistakes, and is deemed as unexciting, whereas Johnny Manziel is seen as holding the key to their NFL future, and an exciting, modern man to lead them forward. Many fans are split between the two, and just when it seemed Manziel would get his chance, it's all changed. Josh Gordon is back, the real (starter) Isaiah Crowell and Brian Hoyer are ready to rumble and they've just — perhaps luckily — beaten the Atlanta Falcons with a last-second field goal. Gordon has served his 10-game ban and he started the game well, and finished well, proving he had no "rust" from his long suspension. Crowell is now the No. 1 running back and Hoyer is still the quarterback and will remain so while he finds ways to win. It might not have been their best performance, but the Browns's boys have won again, and many are comparing them to the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants in recent memory.
