Johnny Manziel Season Over: Cleveland Browns Rookie Injured In Loss To Carolina- Will NFL Team Cut Or Trade Him Before 2015 Kickoff?

By Jaymz Clements | Dec 23, 2014 02:10 PM EST

Johnny Manziel's season is over, as the Cleveland Browns rookie phenom suffered a hamstring injury against the Carolina Panthers on the weekend and will not play on Sunday at Baltimore. But will Johnny Football return to Cleveland in 2015? In the meantime, with fellow Cleveland QB Brian Hoyer also nursing an injured shoulder and former Washington Redskins QB Rex Grossman turning down the Browns offer to play this week, it means Cleveland will have to turn to a variety of veteran castoffs and other rookies to fill their quarterback void against Baltimore. By Jaymz Clements | Dec 09, 2014 09:22 PM EST

After all the hype, advertisements and celebrity endorsements, Johnny Manziel will finally get to start his first NFL game this Sunday against AFC North division and playoff rival Cincinnati Bengals. It comes after starter, Brian Hoyer, was benched two games ago, then reinstated for last Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, which the Browns narrowly lost, 25-24. Read More »

Johnny Manziel Named Starting Quarterback Replacing Brian Hoyer For Cleveland Browns

By Joseph Trezza | Dec 09, 2014 09:16 PM EST

Browns coach Mike Pettine was intentionally glib Monday when asked at a press conference about whether Manziel, the 22nd overall pick in last year's NFL Draft, would replace struggling starter Brian Hoyer. But Tuesday, the Browns made the move, choosing 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Manziel to start under center from this point forward. Read More »

Will Johnny Manziel Start For Cleveland Browns After 25-24 Sunday Loss To Colts?

By Joseph Trezza | Dec 08, 2014 04:49 PM EST

Cleveland Browns fans are ready for 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel to take over for Brian Hoyer, who has struggled mightily after a hot start, according to "USA Today." Browns head coach Mike Pettine named Hoyer the starter of the rookie Manziel at the start of the season. Manziel was already one of the most famous and popular football players in the country after an illustrious career at Texas A&M earned him the nickname "Johnny Football." But Hoyer performed well, leading the Browns to a 6-3 start before the wheels began to fall apart. Cleveland is now 1-3 in its last four games, and ESPN reports that Hoyer has led the Browns to just one touchdown drive in his last 29 series. With pressure mounting to make a change, Pettine stuck with Hoyer Sunday, Dec. 7, against the Indianapolis Colts. He went just 14 for 31 for 140 yards, throwing two interceptions. The game was only close because Cleveland's defense put up 14 points. Read More »

LeBron James & Drake Angry Over Johnny Manziel Benching?

By Kenneth Brown | Dec 03, 2014 01:58 PM EST

Drake and LeBron James will be angry, as despite their best efforts, they couldn't convince Mike Pettine to bench Brian Hoyer in favour of Johnny Manziel, who they're both good friends with. Pettine has angered many fans of the Cleveland Browns and a Hip Hop and NBA icon, all with one move, so Hoyer had better prove his worth in their upcoming NFL clash against the Indianapolis Colts. Will Pettine regret upsetting Drake and James, and could this prompt a Manziel trade? Read More »

Brian Hoyer Attacks Johnny Manziel & LeBron James

By Kenneth Brown | Dec 02, 2014 09:49 AM EST

If anybody thought Brian Hoyer was going to go quietly after his benching, they thought wrong. The Cleveland Browns' QB has come out all guns blazing, verbally attacking Johnny Manziel, LeBron James and the NFL, and of course his team. Hoyer believes he should still be the starter, despite his recent slip of form, and he's not happy that he's been benched. James, the star player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has also insisted that Manziel is "ready" to start. Just when it seems like the world wants Johnny, Brian's done himself no favours at all. What move will the Browns make? Read More »

Johnny Manziel, Brian Hoyer, Josh Gordon- Cleveland Vets Rallying Around Rookie QB To Get Browns To NFL Playoffs?

By Jaymz Clements | Dec 01, 2014 04:24 PM EST

It all started with a quarterback fake, a drive into the endzone, and then the famous 'money' gesture. When Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Johnny Manziel - Johnny Football, as we're so often reminded - scored a touchdown on his first NFL drive after replacing starter Brian Hoyer, it made Browns coach Mike Pettine's choice all the easier as to who would start this week against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. It helps that Manziel is claiming his veteran Cleveland teammates "rallied around" him during their 26-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Read More »

Washington Redskins Ditching Robert Griffin III For Brian Hoyer, Brett Hundley?

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 28, 2014 09:39 AM EST

The Washington Redskins thought they had it all figured out. They had the young, talented Robert Griffin III, Colt McCoy and Kirk Cousins, and despite reports suggesting they believe in RG3, there's now rumblings from within their camp, that they don't see him in their future plans. The Redskins are likely to let Colt finish the season before trading Robert, and quite possibly the other two QB. They are then hoping to redefine their QB position, trying to draft UCLA NCAA QB, Brett Hundley, as well as trying to lure (possible) free agent Brian Hoyer from the Cleveland Browns. It looks highly unlikely that RGIII will be a Redskin next year, but who will trade for him, and just how big of a loss will they take compared to the draft picks they gave to draft him? Read More »

Calvin Johnson Wants Turkey and Super Bowl Win

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 27, 2014 05:10 PM EST

Calvin Johnson has battled injuries throughout this season, and his career for that matter, but he's back, fit, and raring to go. He helped his Detroit Lions to beat the Chicago Bears in their stunning Thanksgiving game. Rumours suggested the Lions would trade their star WR soon, but he seems set to stay after a recent return to form. After his game-changing performance, he insisted he'd be eating some turkey with his family, and then it's back to football, where he and his teammates Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suhare hoping to dominate the NFL and then go on to win the Super Bowl. Johnny Manziel Trade = New Brian Hoyer Contract

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 24, 2014 05:09 PM EST

The Cleveland Browns and their QB situation has had more drama than a blockbuster, action movie. Brian Hoyer is their starter, and he wins games, yet he makes silly mistakes, and is deemed as unexciting, whereas Johnny Manziel is seen as holding the key to their NFL future, and an exciting, modern man to lead them forward. Many fans are split between the two, and just when it seemed Manziel would get his chance, it's all changed. After punching a fan in a hotel, it looks like the Browns might trade him, and then they will pay Hoyer a handsome salary to make him their man man for the long-term future. Read More »

Cleveland Browns Secure NFL Trade?

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 24, 2014 09:55 AM EST

Josh Gordon is back and he and Brian Hoyer are hoping to lead the Cleveland Browns to NFL glory, but could they both be part of an upcoming trade? The Browns are no strangers to making "big" decisions, as proven with deals to send star RB Trent Richardson packing last year, and his replacement Ben Tate a week ago. The Browns have talents like Johnny Manziel, Travis Benjamin and Jordan Cameron, and they're not afraid to make a big call, even if it means upsetting their winning-team mentality that they've developed. Isaiah Crowell And Josh Gordon Deliver For Cleveland Browns

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 23, 2014 05:32 PM EST

Josh Gordon is back, the real (starter) Isaiah Crowell and Brian Hoyer are ready to rumble and they've just — perhaps luckily — beaten the Atlanta Falcons with a last-second field goal. Gordon has served his 10-game ban and he started the game well, and finished well, proving he had no "rust" from his long suspension. Crowell is now the No. 1 running back and Hoyer is still the quarterback and will remain so while he finds ways to win. It might not have been their best performance, but the Browns's boys have won again, and many are comparing them to the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants in recent memory. But can Cleveland go that far? Crowell is their new secret weapon. He never expected the NFL life to come so easy this season, but now Ben Tate is gone and he's the main man. This all fell in to the week where he was visiting Atlanta, where most of his family is based. Could he impress? He did just that, getting two touchdowns and proving that the Browns have a legitimate threat at RB. Read More »

Darrelle Revis Vs Calvin Johnson

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 21, 2014 04:02 PM EST

This weekend, Darrelle Revis will do his best to stop Calvin Johnson, but even he has admitted that his fellow NFL star is a "man amongst boys." This is a shock to hear, with Revis being one of the most confident men in the league. Revis' New England Patriots welcome the Detroit Lions to their stadium, but that's as far as the pleasantries are likely to go, with both teams desperate for the win, but which man will out-do the other, and which team will come out on top?
