Geno Smith Out After Sucker Punch

By Joseph Randazzo | Aug 12, 2015 12:23 PM EDT

The Jets woes with Geno Smith continue and this time the thing that did him in isn't a fumble or pick. It was the sucker punching right hand of 2014 draft pick Ikemefuna Enemkpali. Now the locker room attack will leave him out of action for 6 - 10 weeks because of a broken jaw. Apparently the altercation between the linebacker and Smith was due to Smith not showing up after being invited to his camp in Pflugerville, Texas on July 11. A close friend of Smith passed away a few days priors but still, Enemkapli was livid after Smith failed to pay back the money he owed for a plane ticket. Enemkapli had originally footed the bill. Geno Smith Attacks His Own Form

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 17, 2014 01:43 PM EDT

Is Geno Smith good enough to QB for the New York Jets, who hold NFL Super Bowl aspirations? That's the question that many have asked recently. It seems he may be asking it himself, too. The second-year QB has struggled, and he fell short in the clutch, when he and his Jets dropped a close game to Tom Brady's New England Patriots, losing 27-25 on Thursday Night Football. Michael Vick is attempting to guide him off the field, but with no success it seems, and he's been so incapable this season that some have called for the return of Tim Tebow. Now Smith has questioned himself, and apologized for failing to find Jace Amaro, so one can wonder, is time running out on his Jets career? Read More »

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 07, 2014 03:57 PM EDT

It never seems to be simple; no matter what the New York Jets do, they're still a massive NFL failure, by their own self-set standards anyway. The Jets want Super Bowls, but they often struggle to get wins, or even score points. Their QB situation, on paper, seems okay, with youngster Geno Smith and veteran Michael Vick on their roster, however, as many fans have said, the pair is "awful." It seems the New York Daily News agrees, as their latest headline cries out for a Tim Tebow return. That's right, the man that nobody wants, could well be on his way to a return to New York, and he may bring "Tebowmania" with him. Read More »
