The magazine then makes it clear that Alabama's WR Amari Cooper doesn't get its vote; that goes to Mariota. The Observer reported the crash took place at around 12:30 pm ET on the Church Street Bridge above I-277 in uptown Charlotte. Newton was taken to the hospital in an ambulance at around 12:50 pm ET. The Observer reported the crash was a two-car wreck. Steve Crump of WBTV reported that Newtown did not want to be transported and that the quarterback suffered no injuries, according to a police source. Cleveland Browns fans are ready for 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel to take over for Brian Hoyer, who has struggled mightily after a hot start, according to "USA Today." Browns head coach Mike Pettine named Hoyer the starter of the rookie Manziel at the start of the season. Manziel was already one of the most famous and popular football players in the country after an illustrious career at Texas A&M earned him the nickname "Johnny Football." But Hoyer performed well, leading the Browns to a 6-3 start before the wheels began to fall apart. Cleveland is now 1-3 in its last four games, and ESPN reports that Hoyer has led the Browns to just one touchdown drive in his last 29 series. With pressure mounting to make a change, Pettine stuck with Hoyer Sunday, Dec. 7, against the Indianapolis Colts. He went just 14 for 31 for 140 yards, throwing two interceptions. The Ohio State University Buckeyes had hoped their college football team would have a good season led by Braxton Miller. When he went down and was ruled out for the season, their fans gave up hope, but along came the untried J.T. Barrett. J.T. has been more than impressive, and in today's game he broke three of Miller's records. A huge QB feud and rivalry has developed, with fans now preferring Barrett, but some wanting the return of Miller. Of course, Miller did nothing wrong, so should he lose his starting job next season? NCAA players like Johnny Manziel are long gone, and the attention is all on the likes of Kenny Hill and Todd Gurley, who have helped Texas A&M and the Georgia Bulldogs get off to an impressive start to their college football season. The AP Poll certainly reflects that, too. Impressive games by Hill and Gurley were fundamental in pushing their college teams in to the top-ten, and now they'll be hoping they can keep them there.
