Daft Punk's booked performance on last night's (Aug. 6) episode of "The Colbert Report" did not go quite as planned, apparently. When the show opened last night, Stephen Colbert announced that despite being booked, the French electronic duo were not able to appear on the lampooning news show, because Viacom sister network MTV had booked Daft Punk to perform in a "secret" performance at the 2013 VMAs. Robin Thicke continued with the promotion and lampooning of his massive summer single "Blurred Lines" in a viral video with "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon and hip-hop legends The Roots. In a move similar to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" and Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Thicke, Fallon and co. redid "Blurred Lines" using children's classroom instruments. This single was an earlier release in anticipation for The Wack Album and it became an immediate hit. The comical take of "You Only Live Once" turned into a cautionary song was pretty great in general, and then the music video for it made it even better. So it might seem hard to top, right?
