If it were up to Kanye West, the masses would have heard Magna Carta Holy Grail tracks "Oceans" and "Holy Grail" much sooner. According to a BBC Radio 1 interview via NME, Jay-Z began working on his new album 2013 Magna Carta Holy Grail back when West and he had just finished their collaboration album Watch The Throne, which was released in Aug. 2011.
