It seems that every day there is another rumor surrounding the future of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." One day the show is getting canceled, another day the show is on delay till Teresa Giudice gets out of prison, and yet another day the series is replacing the whole cast. Well, today is no different, as there are more rumors surrounding the series. It is being reported that a blast from the past could be making her way into one of the lead roles next season. According to Radar Online, Penny Drossos, who stirred up a lot of drama during a recurring role in Season 5, might be getting one of the coveted housewife spots. "Bravo noticed that episodes from Season 5 with Penny Drossos were particularly rated well," a source told the news site. That's right: Teresa Giudice is looking to be released from her 15-month prison sentence early. The "RHONJ" actress has already shaved a few months off her sentence for good behavior and at this rate she might even be home in time for Christmas with her daughters Gia, Milania, Gabriella and Audriana. The star hasn't even served a full week in the slammer, but the Fedeal Bureau of Prisons is reporting that the star is scheduled to be released Feb. 5, 2016, two full months ahead of her original sentence, which would have seen her be released April 5, 2016. According to the site and its "inmate locator" feature, Teresa is expected to serve only a 13-month sentence. It looks like everyone's favorite housewives city might be packing things in and calling it a day. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" has been left with a pretty big decision now that their most famous star is behind bars, and the network is wondering if it will be able to carry on the show without Teresa Giudice. While there have been rumors that past cast members, including Caroline Manzo, Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile would be returning to the series to fill the void left by Giudice, it seems that now the network is thinking about canceling the series altogether. According to Radar Online, the network feels like even if it were to bring back past cast members full-time, it still wouldn't feel like it would be enough to make up for Giudice's departure. "At this point, 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' is essentially done," a source explained to the site. The "RHONJ" actress and her husband Joe Giudice pled guilty to financial fraud in March 2014 and both are set to do time. Teresa is the first one to go and a former star is opening up on what it will be like for Giudice when she heads behind bars. Jody "Babydol" Gibson, who served almost two years in federal prison and was involved in a case similar to that of Teresa's, spoke out to Radar Online to describe what the New Jersey star is likely to experience during her time in jail, especially the reactions from other inmates.
