Kathy Griffin is taking over the hosting role for E!'s Fashion Police, but the famously caustic comedienne admits that she's not simply going to emulate her dearly departed friend, Joan Rivers. She will, she says, bring her own specific flavor to the inexplicably much-loved fashion show where adults criticize what other grown ups are wearing. Taking to ABC's The Today Show ahead of Fashion Police's return on Jan. 12, she said that her long-time friend Rivers, "absolutely left big shoes to fill, and I'm bringing my own slippers." The New York Knicks are enduring the season from hell, and it could be about to get a lot, lot worse. Star forward Carmelo Anthony — who signed a five year $124 million contract with New York in the offseason — could be contemplating sitting the rest of the 2015 NBA season with an injury to his left knee. Does Gwyneth Paltrow regret her 'conscious uncoupling' from husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin? Paltrow has revealed in a new interview that she remains "very, very close" to Martin just days after Martin was spotted hanging out with ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence. The 42 year old actress and founder of Goop also explained in a separate interview - Paltrow is promoting new movie Mortdecai with Johnny Depp and Ewan McGregor - that there are times when she thinks it would've been better had they stayed married. Looks like gospel singer Torrence Greene will have a happy new year as he welcomes in 2015 out of the hospital and joining his singing group 21:03 for a night of praise in Washington, D.C. "MStars News" previously reported that Greene was hospitalized for unknown conditions last week during the holidays, but now seems to be doing just fine as he rested at home from his emergency hospitalization. Greene updated his fans writing via Facebook: "Happy New Year! (Wanted to be the first to say it) smirk Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, visits to the hospital, texts, tweets, voicemails and emails. Big Eyes director Tim Burton and his ex-partner, actress Helena Bonham Carter, were spotted out and about in London on Christmas Day, amid rumors that Johnny Depp's BFF is the case behind the split and is now dating a 39-year-old production assistant named Berenice Percival. Chris Rock and wife Malaak Compton-Rock are divorcing after being married for 19 years. Rock's new movie 'Top Five' is out now, and in all the press the superstar comedian did in support of the movie — which he wrote, directed and stars in — he never brought up any troubles his marriage might have been going through. The New York Jets have fired Rex Ryan. The controversial head coach had already reportedly cleaned out his desk, and Jets owner Woody Johnson today obliged both Rex and General Manager John Idzik by parting ways with the pair. This year the Jets went 4-12, the worst record the team has posted since 2007, and once again missed the NFL playoffs making it their fourth season in a row without postseason action. The Jets have hired two former NFL GMs - Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf - to oversee their new hires, while speculation is mounting that Rex Ryan could head to the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders or Chicago Bears. 'Alice In Wonderland' and 'Big Eyes' director Tim Burton and actor partner Helena Bonham Carter have reportedly split after 13 years together. The couple — who have collaborated on movies such as 'Alice in Wonderland', 'Dark Shadows', 'Corpse Bride', 'Sweeney Todd' and 'Planet of the Apes' over the past decade — have two children together, and Helena Bonham Carter has served as Burton's muse for many of his movies. The Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, L.A. Clippers, Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies are all jostling to sign dumped Detroit Pistons star Josh Smith after the forward was stunningly waived by his former team yesterday with $26 million remaining on his contract. Smith will clear waivers Wednesday and reportedly the Rockets — with Smith's good friend Dwight Howard leading the charge — are the frontrunners to sign the former star and current wayward walking inefficiency. The Detroit Pistons have waived Josh Smith, with $26 million still remaining on the contract star forward signed with the NBA team last year (which the Pistons still have to pay). Pistons Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Stan Van Gundy told Smith the news this morning in a meeting, and early indications are that the L.A. Clippers, Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks are interested in picking up the 6 ' 9" combo forward. Even it's a move to free up space for star center Andre Drummond, power forward Greg Monroe, similarly under-performing point guard Brandon Jennings and second-year guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, simply waiving Smith a remarkable move. The Pistons have reportedly tried to trade Smith, but in choosing to waive him, they still have to pay his contract. Read More »
