The Chicago Bears have benched quarterback Jay Cutler, as head coach Marc Trestman looks to avoid being fired. The NFL team will instead start backup Jimmy Clausen for their game against the NFC North divisional rival Detroit Lions this Sunday, say reports. Cam Newton is expected to go home Wednesday, Dec. 10, after staying in the hospital overnight to undergo tests and observation. "MStars News" previously learned that Newton was involved in a car accident Tuesday, where his truck crashed and turned over multiple times involving one other car. The Carolina Panthers quarterback status is currently unclear if he will play Sunday, Dec. 14, or not. Despite escaping life-threatening injuries, Newton did suffer two fractures to his lower back. The other driver didn't suffer life-threatening injuries. Panthers spokesman Charlie Dayton didn't go into detail about Newton's return to practice for the game Sunday, but he did say, "Right now we have thought about Cam's well-being and we understand there was someone else in the other car who was injured. We just hope that they're all OK." Dayton did reveal that Newton suffered from two transverse process fractures, but surgery will not be necessary. The 25-year-old's NFL team released a statement via Twitter that read: "We are closely monitoring the situation of a car wreck involving Cam Newton. This time it will be Jim Bob and Michelle's daughter Jill Duggar Dillard's son, aka "Baby Dilly," who is expected to make his debut March 2015. After getting over another wedding — Ben and Jessa Seewald's — the "19 Kids and Counting" stars Derick, 25, and Jill Dillard, 23, are gearing up for parenthood and taking their first pregnancy one step at a time. "I am learning a lot about birth," Derick shared with "People" magazine earlier this week. "We are doing our homework together, and I keep reading new things, the medical aspects are fascinating to me."
