Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Andy Samberg is teaming up with his pals from The Lonely Island for a brand new project with Fox; a comedy show! The trio composed by Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone will be in charge of executive producing a new series for Fox in a concept they're more than familiar with after having worked on another big sketch show, Saturday Night Live.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy trio, which became notorious for their hilarious SNL shorts like the Emmy-winning "D*ck in a Box" with Justin Timberlake, are teaming up with Paul Scheer to executive produce Party Over Here, Fox's own Saturday late-night show.

Unfortunately, the hilarious comedy trio won't be joining the show in front of the camera. Instead, the cast will be comprised of Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna and Alison Rich. Interestingly enough, the show happens to be an all-female take on the traditional sketch comedy format, at least for the time being.

While it's also a Saturday late-night sketch show, Party Over Here won't be facing SNL directly, airing at 11 p.m. ET/PT instead. It will also be the first sketch show on Fox since MadTV, which ended its long run back in 2009.

"When we first conceived this idea, we thought of it as a spinoff of Empire," The Lonely Island said in a statement, via Deadline. "We failed miserably...now it's much more of a sketch comedy show."

On his part, Scheer, who will be directing a few of the series' episodes, added that they were exciting to create a new show "in an age where most millennials don't even know what a TV is."

Back in early 2014, The Lonely Island and Fox signed a multi-year deal to create new content, and so now the audience will finally see the fruits of this union with Party Over Here, which will premiere on March 12.
