Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, aired its winter finale on Fox. Before the upcoming Episode 12, will Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) become victims of Theo Galavan (James Frain)'s "Wrath of the Villains?"

In our previous recap, mourning over their fallen officer, Jim and Bullock (Donal Logue) went after the Order of St. Dumas. After faking his kidnapping, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) got the name of his parent's killer from Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind). After Theo (James Frain) fooled the court system, both Jim and Bruce were in peril. Alfred ended up getting a knife to his back after fighting with Tigress.

In our recent recap, it was a massive shootout between the Order of St. Dumas and a room full of police officers. With Bruce back with Alfred, Jim and Penguin took Theo (James Frain) to the docks. After Penguin beat Theo senseless, Jim took out his gun and pulled the trigger. To get revenge for his mother, Penguin drove an umbrella through Theo's mouth. As Gordon settled in with his pregnant Leslie Tompkins (Morena Baccarin), Mister Freeze suddenly showed up to stir trouble.

Daily Mail Online showed up on the set of Gotham, capturing James Frain in an upcoming episode. Because comic characters don't usually die, it shouldn't be surprising that his character is still kicking around. If you notice carefully, the True Detective actor happens to be wearing a red mask. Though the red mask hints at the Red Hood, the armor hints at Azraeal.

In the DC Universe, the Order of St. Dumas brain-washing Jean-Paul Valley to be the killing machine known as Azraeal. Jean-Paul Valley would later take on the Bat mantle when the super-villain Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back.

In an interview with Comic Book, executive producer John Stephens  dishes, "In many respects, Azrael will have many of the hallmarks and traits that we know from the comics. But it will have a brand-new twist upon that character; the way we're going to bring that character into being on our show will be different than anything we've seen in the comics."

Gotham Season 2 returns to Fox on February  29, 2016 at 8pm.
