Remember the time when it was rumored that Thor: Ragnarok star Jaimie Alexander would play Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Things have taken a different turn as the role was eventually given to Gal Gadot. However, Alexander has recently spoken up about being passed over for the Fast and The Furious actress and it certainly sounds like she doesn't mind at all!

Alexander recently spoke to Variety, where she confirmed that she is looking forward to seeing Gadot as Diana Prince.

"I'm excited to see what she's going to do with the role," Alexander said of Gadot before confirming one of the main reasons why she didn't get the part.

"I was one of a few people that were an obvious choice for Wonder Woman, but it was never going to happen. I'm contracted with Marvel and it would (be) strange," she said.

Alexander also pointed out how the two characters may be from different universes, but they are still very similar.

"Sif, in her way, is Marvel's Wonder Woman," she said. "They're both ethereal and have armor and a sword, and have special abilities; the physicality of the role is very similar."

The Blindspot star may love a lot of things about Wonder Woman, but she also revealed that the one thing that drew her to Sif was the inspiration behind the character. Alexander, who is a huge fan of Sigourney Weaver, shared how a comic book artist was inspired by the Alien actress.

"Walt Simonson told me that his version of Lady Sif was very much modeled after seeing Sigourney Weaver walk down the New York streets in a red trench coat," she said. "I thought, 'Oh, well she's my favorite, so that's perfect.' That's just so perfect for me."

Catch Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will premiere on March 25. Alexander will reprise her role as Sif in Thor: Ragnarok, which is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
