Sylvester Stallone, fresh off an Academy Award nomination for reprising his role of Rocky Balboa in reboot film Creed, may have joined another larger-than-life cast: Guardians of the Galaxy 2! New pictures of the James Gunn sequel show the Rambo actor hanging out on set of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie that is shooting in Atlanta.

The New York Daily News caught Stallone leaving the same Atlanta hotel where the entire cast is currently staying, then apparently getting in a car that's usually assigned to Star-Lord actor, Chris Pratt. The actor and filmmaker also happened to be holding a script in his hands, though its title wasn't visible to photographers; but considering the context he was spotted in, it seems likely that it might be Gunn's screenplay for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Could we be hearing "Eye of the Tiger" in the Awesome Mix Vol. 2?

Though chances of his appearance are looking pretty bright right now, there's still no confirmation from anyone at Marvel or anyone otherwise involved in the film, so it's impossible to tell what kind of role he has if he's appearing on the movie, whether it's a major one or that of a smaller character.

With a cast that includes Glenn Close and Kurt Russell, one thing is certain: Stallone won't be the only acting legend around set this time around!

The sequel to the wildly successful 2014 superhero adaptation is currently being shot at Pinewood Studios in Georgia. So far, new confirmed cast members include Russell, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan. The original Guardians will be returning this time around too, with Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, plus Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel returning for their voice roles as Rocket Raccoon and Groot, respectively.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will come out in theaters next year on May 5 -- the first MCU film coming out in 2017. It will be followed by the new Spider-Man reboot and Thor: Ragnarok.
