There is a lot of hype over next year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, thanks to director James Gunn. The man at the helm of  Slither has just offered an update on what is happening during the shooting of the movie, confirming that he had recently filmed a "magnificent" scene featuring Chris Pratt's Peter Quill and Kurt Russell's mysterious character!

Gunn was recently live on his official Facebook page, where he revealed that he had just finished filming Pratt and Russell together.

"We just shot a scene with Chris Pratt and Kurt Russell," Gunn shared, adding that although he cannot offer a glimpse of the scene, he is truly excited about what he saw.

"I cannot show you - they are in their costumes - but it was magnificent and really exciting," he confirmed.

Gunn also spoke about talking to Pratt about how lucky they are to have Russell in GotG Vol. 2.

"About an hour ago, I was sitting with Chris and I said, 'You know what, we're really truly blessed that we have this group of people around us,'" he said. "We're working with Kurt Russell, who has been an absolute delight."

It certainly sounds like Gunn is amazed with the Hateful Eight star, who he also claimed is truly dedicated to playing his GotG character.

"He is really so committed to the role he is playing," he said of Russell.

Russell isn't the only star who got compliments from the director. Gunn also spoke about his new star, Pom Klementieff, who he said had just shot an amazing scene for the film.

"Yesterday, we had a really truly jaw dropping moment, a wonderful moment with Pom, who plays Mantis," he shared, gushing about how the Oldboy actress "fits the role so perfectly that it's shocking."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled for release on May 5, 2017.
