There are several rumors surrounding the third Wolverine film, which will be Hugh Jackman's final outing as the adamantium-clawed mutant. However, the most enduring speculation suggests that the movie will be taking its storyline from Old Man Logan. Now, Jackman has spoken up about the possibility of Wolverine 3 dealing with the events in Mark Millar's popular comic book series!

The Eddie the Eagle star recently spoke to MTV, where he confirmed that he has read the comic books.

"I've read that one yeah, of course, I've read pretty much all of them over the years," Jackman admitted before stating that he is unable to verify the rumors.

"I have read that, yeah, but I cannot confirm or deny," he said, adding that it might be better if fans weren't aware of what could happen in Wolverine 3.

"It would be no fun if you knew what it was all about," Jackman concluded.

This certainly sounds like a major departure from the actor's previous teases about Wolverine 3, where he had basically confirmed that the film will be based on Old Man Logan. Nevertheless, fans seem to be looking forward to Jackman's final mutant film to take on the recently relaunched comic series.

Although Wolverine 3 has been confirmed to be Jackman's last mutant movie, there have also been rumors that the antihero will also appear in X-Men: Apocalypse. When questioned whether Wolverine will have a cameo in a scene involving William Stryker in the film, director Bryan Singer had stated the mutant will not be in that "particular" subplot.

"As a central character, he didn't fit into this particular story," Singer stated.

Someone better tell the director to be careful about the words he uses, since fans immediately speculated that Jackman might still appear in a different scene.

Wolverine 3 will be directed by James Mangold and is scheduled for release in 2017.
