Last Saturday night was a big night for LeBron James, as he became the NBA's no.10 career scorer with the Cleveland Cavaliers winning against the Philadelphia 76ers. Finishing the game with 25 points, 14 assists and 8 rebounds, James and the team keeps the record clean for the reining champions.

James took the spot midway through the first quarter, after converting a fast-break layup. His first attempt at breaking the record was met with a block from Joel Embiid, which the Bellefontaine Examiner refers to as highlight-reel worthy.

With fans expecting an easy game between the Cavs and the 76ers, it proved to be a surprise for the Cavs. Cleveland finished the first quarter with 34-19 and leading the halftime at 57-46. The 76ers, however, outscored Cleveland 16-9 on early on the fourth quarter. With Philadelphia leading at 101-99, Channing Frye nailed a 3-pointer, taking the lead from the 76ers at 102-101. A turnover by Gerald Henderson sealed the deal for the Cavs, who barely came out with the win.

Kevin Love also contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavs, who are now at a standing of 6-0.  Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue was pleased with the outcome, despite the adversity.

The 76ers, however, are still looking to break the 0-5 skid, as Newsday reports. Despite a 22-point performance by Embiid and recent acquisition Ersan Ilyasova bringing 20 points for the team, the 76ers is among the three teams, along with New Orleans and Dallas, who have yet to score a win this season.

The game ended with James having a total of 26, 970 points. Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon, the previous title-holder, ended his career with 26,946 points. James is ranked as no.12 in the ABA/NBA combined scoring list, with Kareem Abdul-Jabaar leading both the ABA/NBA and the NBA scoring lists.
