Anyone who hears the name "Kong" knows who or what exactly it means. The giant ape who was the center of the 1993 classic, "King Kong", and the 2005 film of the same title, will be hitting the big screens again in 2017.

Monarch Sciences, a group tasked to learn of the "King's" home, plays an important role in unraveling the mysteries of Skull Island. Comicbook revealed that the group sent multiple exploration teams to the island to discover its secrets.

A marketing campaign that had gone viral kicked off via Monarch Science's Twitter account. The studio did a good job in teasing the viewers of updates about "Kong: Skull Island" by leaking communications of the island's discovery through mission transmissions posted on the said Twitter account.

These transmissions were leaked one by one to serve as teasers for the second trailer which will be released on November 16. The first trailer of "Kong:Skull Island" built excitement and thrill from among the fans but since it was released a few months ago, the excitement may have died down. The studio did not run out ways to hype the viewers though, judging on their campaign that went viral almost instantly.

Cinema Blend revealed that the plot of the movie is set in the 1970s when a team of explorers enters an unknown Pacific island which hold incredible beauty and terrible danger. It was said to follow the son of Carl Denham, 25 years after the original "King Kong" was killed. It was reported that director Jordan Vogt-Roberts had said that his "Kong" will not be an oversized ape but a giant of 100 feet tall.

"Kong:Skull Island" is produced by Legendary and Warner Bros. and written by Max Borenstein,  Derek Connolly, Dan Gilroy  and John Gatins. The movie's impressive cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman and more. It is scheduled to hit the theaters in March 10, 2017.
