Fans of "Steven Universe" are getting the best Christmas gift ever. It has been confirmed that the popular Cartoon Network series will be available in comic book form in February. Boom! Studios is going to serialize Steven and the Crystal Gems along with new members of their family, Peridot and Lapis.

According to Den of Geek, KaBoom! once released a few limited copies and one-shots of "Steven Universe." This is kind of their third "Steven Universe" comic book from Boom!. New stories will be featured and the plot of the kickoff issue was even revealed.

The report said that the first issue will feature Steven, Peridot and Lapis rescuing a young songbird from the ground. The three will work together to reunite the baby bird with its mom. It seems that the comics will not start from the initial season of the series but will continue from the time Peridot and Lapis are already at the barn. Creators of the comic series did not reveal whether these issues will be on stand alone or will be interconnected.

The exclusive report also mentioned the staff behind the new "Steven Universe" comics. Melanie Gilman wrote the first issue while artist Katy Farina drew Steven and the gang. The first episode will be 32 pages long in full, vibrant color and will be out February 1, 2017. It will be available for $3.99.

Meanwhile, iTech Post posted a recap of 'Gem Harvest,' the latest "Steven Universe" episode so far. There was a very strong immigration angle on this episode that fans were able to spot as soon as Steven's Uncle Andy opened his mouth.

Andy DeMayo is a new character that has just appeared on this episode. He was furious to find out that Greg did not marry an American and was even more furious to find out that she and the Gems were illegal aliens. He quickly ordered everyone, especially the Gems to get out of his barn and out of his country. But things became better after Steven had a heart to heart talk with his uncle while riding on his airplane. The episode ended with Uncle Andy accepting the Gems and letting them stay in his barn.

"Steven Universe" fans surely got their payback with a comic book and new episodes of the show on the way. The long wait certainly was worth it.
