Google introduced the Goals feature last year that promises to help you find time in your busy schedule to achieve goals like going out for a run, spending time with family/friends and/or developing skills. On Thursday, Google said you can now connect Google Fit and Apple Health to your fitness goals in Google Calendar.

"Goals in Google Calendar" is a little wizard tool that asks what you want to achieve for the day (like going to the gym for example, or getting groceries) and then finds time in your schedule for appointments. You can also set the duration and frequency for each goal you made automatically, and Google Calendar will send you notifications at the necessary times.

In a report by The Verge, the update on the existing "Goals in Google Calendar" feature that was released on April last year, incorporates data from Google fit and Apple Health apps to track your achievements and adapt to them as you go.

According to a report by CNET, the latest feature uses machine learning - the same kind of algorithm it uses to deliver search results, help translate languages and identify objects in photos - to find the best time window for the goals you have set and writes it into your calendar.

Also with this latest update, health data from wearable and fitness trackers can be viewed right in the Calendar app, which will make it easier to stay on top of your goals, Google hopes. Even of you fell behind on your schedule, the app will automatically adjust and reschedule the said goal.

Product manager Florian Goerisch said in a blog post "Say you set a goal to run at 6:30 every other morning but aren't actually hitting your stride until 7:15 - Google Calendar has you covered and will adjust accordingly."

There's also a new addition to the app, a "new visual performance tracker" to help you see how you are doing because who doesn't want to see their PRs (personal records) or how much calories they've burned, right?
