A Google Pixel 2 phone is reportedly coming to the stores on the steps of the first Google Pixel batch. This new gadget will have a higher price, but its specs promise to stump users with better camera and dust and water proofing features.

Google Pixel 2 specs: phone will have better camera features

Google announced last year that it would be releasing its first ever self-branded smart phones. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL is manufactured by HTC but is designed and engineered by the people at Google. In the heels of these recently announced phones are the Pixel 2 and a cheaper alternative, Pixel 2B, that could come out soon.

9 to 5 Google reports that Google Pixel 2 is going to be a much improve version, with better camera features, with the help of two manufacturers. This one is on the high-end, so Google will reportedly be coming up with cheaper phones for the masses. The first Pixel was supposed to have a waterproofing feature, but, according to the publication, it's "still on the table".

Google goes head-to-head against competitors with Pixel 2 and 2B

It would make sense then that Google Pixel 2 will bear that feature instead. The cheaper alternative, dubbed Pixel 2B, is also in development. Pixel XL costs around $769, but CNET reports that the Pixel 2 will be at least $50 higher in price. The Pixel 2B will be cheaper and it could either be launched after or together with Pixel 2.

Generally, the Google Pixel phones were received positively. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was recalled because of fire accidents and there are still a handful of people who don't want to use an iPhone. The Google smart phones still run on Android and have the advantage of containing the best features that work well with Google apps. Also, their batteries last a bit longer, so people who use a lot of Google apps will have no problem transitioning to the Pixel brand.
