Android Apps is coming to the Chromebook this year and this is a good reason to give the evolving Google ecosystem a second look. So, those who are planning to get their hands on a Chromebook this year are in for a treat as Google has announced that each Chromebook launched in 2017 will support the Google Play Store and the Android apps.

Chromebooks have become quite popular particularly in the education sector, but that's hardly surprising as the device low cost in mind. Apart from that, Chromebooks are easy to operate and also support a slide of other Google services. The devices, offered from manufacturers that also make Windows PC and run Google's popular Chrome OS that is an environment most Google Chrome browser users are well familiar with.

Despite garnering huge popularity in the education sector, Chromebooks has failed to capture the home users market. In their bid to address this issue the company is now finally gearing up to integrate Android apps and Google Play Store in its Chromebooks.

The current generation of the Chromebooks are actually ideal for basic computing but, in the absence of the internet, these machines can be quite limit. This is exactly why this announcement from the search engine giant is said to be coming at a perfect time, for those who have been considering Chromebooks as an option since bevies of Android apps will now be accessible even in offline mode also.

Previous year, Google has revealed its plan to bring mobile platform-exclusive apps to its desktop platform including older Chromebooks before 2016 ends. And on Monday, Google has finally officially revealed that all Chromebooks producing in the 2017 will be having Android apps support. However, the company did not reveal a specific date when the Chromebooks will start working with Android apps.

Three Chromebooks including Chromebook Pixel, Acer Chromebook R11, and Asus Chromebook Flip has already set to be coming with this feature. Moreover, Google, in collaboration with Samsung has announced the Samsung Chromebook Pro and Plus that will come with the beta version of the Play Store preinstalled at the recently concluded CES, reports Fox News.

The addition of Android apps will definitely make the Chromebook a more appealing alternative for those who are looking to purchase a budget-friendly and modest computer this year, as apart from additional functionality for the Chrome OS, 2017 Chromebooks will also be offering an array of offline apps.
