'Outlander' Season 3 Spoilers: Caitriona Balfe Opens Up About Claire's Broken Marriage

Caitriona Balfe's Claire and Sam Heughan's Jamie share one of the passionate relationships viewers ever witnessed on the small screens. Unfortunately, their love story in "Outlander" wasn't smooth. It's not that they don't love each other because they do but Claire thought that the love of her life was dead.

Caitriona Balfe told TV Insider that her "Outlander" character Claire tries to live her life without Jaime. However, after experiencing an all-consuming love with him, no other man can compare. Thus, she resumed her marriage with Frank (Tobias Menzie) without romance.

"Claire decides to focus on her career and tries to slot Frank in. That leads to disappointment and resentment. It's a broken marriage," said Caitriona Balfe.

However, since the couple shares baby Brianna, the connection is still there. Caitriona Balfe added that Claire and Frank coparent so their relationship in "Outlander" is not that miserable 24/7.

Well, it's understandable that fans want Jaime and Claire to reunite. The producers tease that the lovers will be back in each other's arms in "Outlander" Season 3. However, it might take some episodes before the anticipated reunion airs.
