"Kong: Skull Island" will pave the way for the Monsterverse, which began with the reboot of "Godzilla" in 2014. Franchises and series are the trend now, and Godzilla and King Kong will be fighting it off in 2020 film. The giant gorilla movie, meanwhile, is reported to have a really "awesome" post-credits scene.

Since "Kong: Skull Island" is now part of a franchise, it only makes sense for Legendary Pictures to tack a post-credits scene after the 2017 film to tease the fans for the upcoming 2019 and 2020 Monsterverse films, according to Screen Rant. Splash Report editor-in-chief Kellvin Chavez posted on Twitter this morning that the movie's post-credits scene will impress the audience.

So far, the only movies confirmed in the Monsterverse after the 2014 "Godzilla" are "Kong: Skull Island" this 2017, "Godzilla 2" in 2019 and "Godzilla vs. King Kong" in 2020. Perhaps the post-credits scene will tease a King Kong sequel in 2018 that hasn't been revealed yet. After the new "Kong: Skull Island" trailer, fans can't wait for more of the film.

The movie won't just revolve around the soldiers trying to survive on Skull Island against various monsters and the Skull Crawlers. The "Kong: Skull Island" cast of characters will probably uncover some secrets about Monarch, the company that sent them to Skull Island. The shady corporation will probably have a connection to the Godzilla incident.

According to Den of Geek, the "Kong: Skull Island" plot will be set in the 70s. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts hinted that the movie will not be like the 2005 remake "King Kong", which faithfully depicted the age-old story of a beauty and the beast where Kong climbs the tower and gets killed by fighter jets. Vogt-Roberts also said that the film's Kong is the biggest one in cinematic history. The movie will hit the cinemas on March 10, 2017.
