A good year has passed since "Deadpool" graced the big screen, and a sequel is currently in the works. Casting for major roles in "Deadpool 2" has been a hot topic for the follow-up, with Kerry Washington from "Scandal" currently eyed to play as the mutant Domino.

According to Movieweb, Washington, who plays as crisis manager Olivia Pope in "Scandal", is reading for the said character that both Sienna Miller and Guru Mbatha-Raw declined. Revealing the casting breakdown for "Deadpool 2", Domino, who is tagged under her other name Neena Thurman, would be played by an actress of any ethnicity, and is described as sext, athletic and with a witty personality. The casting breakdown also adds that she would be a no-nonsense badass who rarely shows her feelings.

On the other hand, Cable, who was promised to be on "Deadpool 2" on the first movie's post-credits scene, is another slot that the production team is trying to fill. The Independent reported, however, that Pierce Brosnan, who is best known for playing as James Bond, is on the talk to play for the "Deadpool2" role after an image of him, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman surfaced online.

"Deadpool 2" has already gone through some speedbumps since being greenlit by Fox after the success of the first Deadpool movie. Director Tim Miller, who was a key player on the first one, bowed out of "Deadpool 2" due to some creative concerns, with music composer Junkie XL following suit. Good thing writers Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and lead actor Reynolds himself are sticking to the project.

Helming "Deadpool 2" is David Leitch, who also directed the "John Wick" movies. According to him, the DNA of Deadpool will still be intact for his second outing. As of scribes Wernick and Reese, they promised that Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Dopinder will be joining the Merc with Mouth for "Deadpool 2".
